Stress? October 26, 2008

A fine example of stress. From PW, apparently, this young man was sighted sprawled at the foot of the NL reading flash cards (?). It’s the PW season. (insert evil laughter) J1s please don’t be nehnehs and do put in as much effort as possible cause getting C for PW just bloody SUCKS. I want a tshirt labeled ‘Anti-Freud’ or ‘Freudist’.

Anyway, the answer to the photo of ‘me’ several posts down is, NOPE it isn’t me! :D LOL quite scary to see someone who looks exactly like me from the back! I’m on the left and she’s on the right! LOL :D

Hmm. I shall come up with a Things to do after A’s list! Life seems very pointless at the moment.

Hazelnut Ice Blended + band jacket + Symphony 92.4 + work + you = :D

I really need to keep that pinky promise with Mrs T and stop sleeping past 12 ):

Baccalaureate October 12, 2008

This week marked the end of my 12 years of education (well, excluding university). Can’t deny that I’ve been looking forward to graduating this week since I really wanted all that rush and stress from portfolio and practical to be over and done with, and finally start studying. But there’s still this subtle feeling of sadness of leaving this college. I guess I’ve never really felt so much for a school before, even though I do love Crescent a lot. Nothing can compare to what I’ve experienced as a student of ACJC in these 2 years. All the memories, emotions, thoughts.. They’ll remain in my heart forever. I’m proud to be an ACSian. Proud to be from ACJC :)

We sang these two songs during the Baccalaureate Service on Thursday. I really like them.. Even though I do admit that I’ve slept through quite a number of Chapels in these 2 years haha. Still brought back some memories from recently, how I was frustrated about practical. Hmm. Yup. Service was good. The speeches were good. I felt loved.. And almost everyone sang the National Anthem, said the pledge and sang the School Song :D I think it was one of the loudest School Songs I’ve ever heard :D

Still
Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

CHORUS:
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

Complete
Here I am, Oh God
I bring this sacrifice, my open heart
I offer up my life
I look to You, Lord
Your Love that never ends
Restores me again

CHORUS:
So I lift my eyes to you, Lord
In Your Strength will I break through, Lord
Touch me now, let Your Love fall down on me
I know Your Love dispels all my fears

Through the storm I will hold on, Lord
And by faith I will walk on, Lord
Then I’ll see beyond my calvary one day
And I will be complete in You

I’m glad I came to study in a Methodist institution. I’ll miss Monday Chapel (they used to be quite convenient naptimes back then haha), morning devotions and just knowing that there is a God, taking care of our entire school. I’m glad to have learnt so much from Christ and to have found strength from the Bible (from Religious Emphasis week haha).

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
- Jeremiah 29:11

I feel safe and grateful knowing that I can trust my education in Him. Whatever bad things that happen, like having the worst teacher ever, bad results, failures and disappointments, they all have a purpose: to teach me how to be strong and cope with my shortcomings. So I will learn from them, no matter how bad it gets, because at the end of the day, He has plans for me. Life will be better :)

More about pre- and post- Baccalaureate soon!’

Seventy times Seven October 6, 2008

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Matthew 18:21, 22
